CADDO PARISH, La. -Interstate 20 westbound will be closed intermittently for several hours Friday as emergency crews respond to multiple traffic accidents between Pines Road and Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, according to Shreveport police.
Diesel fuel has spilled across portions of the roadway, and crews are working to contain and clean the spill while also clearing damaged vehicles from the interstate. No injuries have been reported.
Traffic in the area is already heavily congested, and officials warn that significant delays are expected throughout the evening. Drivers are urged to avoid the area, seek alternate routes and use extreme caution if traveling near the scene. Motorists are also asked to slow down, remain alert and give first responders plenty of room to work safely…
