Stanton Road SE armed robbery ends with quick arrests, MPD says

WASHINGTON (7News) — The Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrests of two men accused of committing an armed robbery in Southeast Washington, D.C., before they could flee the scene.

According to police, the robbery happened around 9:15 p.m. Friday in the 3000 block of Stanton Road Southeast. Investigators said two suspects approached the victims, displayed guns and demanded money. The suspects allegedly took money from one victim before responding officers apprehended them.

Police arrested 22-year-old Jonathan Johnson, of Northeast Washington, D.C., and 24-year-old Laron Plowden, of Southeast Washington, D.C. Both men were charged with armed robbery while armed with a gun…
