Wrong-Way Driver Crashes Into Maryland State Police Vehicle, Faces DUI Charges

Maryland State Police arrested a Cambridge man Saturday night after police say he drove the wrong way for several miles on U.S. Route 13 before crashing into a state police patrol vehicle.

Joshua Jorette, 36, of Cambridge, was arrested at the scene and charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and other related offenses. He is being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m., police received multiple reports of a Ford F-250 traveling north in the southbound lanes of the Salisbury Bypass. A trooper attempted to intercept the pickup, but police said it continued north and nearly struck the patrol vehicle…
