GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Maryland has secured federal recertification of its REAL ID program, allowing federal agencies to continue accepting state-issued REAL ID driver’s licenses and identification cards for purposes including airport security screening.
The Transportation Security Administration formally recertified Maryland’s continued compliance with federal REAL ID requirements, the Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration announced Wednesday.
About 99.6% of Maryland’s active driver’s licenses and identification cards are REAL ID compliant as of September, according to the MVA. The agency said that rate is among the highest in the country…
