One case of measles confirmed in Maryland

BALTIMORE — The Maryland Department of Health announced on Sunday afternoon that one case of measles has been confirmed in a Baltimore metro area resident who recently traveled internationally. Health officials are working to identify the people who may have come in contact with the person.

To protect the person’s privacy, the Maryland Department of Health will not provide any additional information about the person’s identity.

Measles cases occur sporadically in Maryland, with three cases of measles identified in Maryland in 2025, one in 2024, one in 2023, and no cases from 2020-2022. This is the first case in 2026…
