Power lines downed in Alexandria near high school, road closed

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — A road in Alexandria was partially closed after power lines fell down on Sunday morning.

The Alexandria Police Department (APD) said in a post just before 8:55 a.m. that crews were in the 1000 block of N. Quaker Lane, right near Episcopal High School, where power lines had fallen into the road. Photos posted on X showed a tree down in the road at one point as well.

The road’s southbound lanes were closed to traffic.

APD said that Dominion Energy and Alexandria Transportation and Environmental Services crews responded to the scene.
