SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Reports of gunshots were made in different parts of Rapid City over the holiday weekend.
A news release from the Rapid City Police says that around 7:40 a.m. on Saturday, police were dispatched to the park at 300 Omaha Street for a report of a man firing a handgun near the pond. Officers quickly converged on the area and located the man, identified as Tommy Bluebird, 37, of Rapid City. Upon police arrival, a second man fled from police along the bike path and discarded the firearm. After a short foot pursuit, he was detained and identified as Jon Caldwell,39, of Rapid City.

Both men were on parole. Bluebird was placed under arrest for a parole hold. Caldwell was arrested for obstruction and a parole hold.
The firearm was recovered, and no injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire. RCPD say the investigation of the incident is ongoing, and police anticipate that state and federal firearms charges are forthcoming in the case…
