Unusual landspout formation spotted near Valley Springs

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO)– A land spout was spotted south of Valley Springs on Wednesday. KELOLAND Meteorologist Jaelyn Borresen explains how land spouts like this can occur.

Borresen said a land spout is a member of the tornado family that doesn’t come from a supercell.
