Crews rescue 20-year-old after 100 ft. fall at Boulder Hill

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Saturday afternoon, crews with the Rockerville Volunteer Fire Department, Search and Rescue, and Keystone Ambulance rescued a 20-year-old who fell over 100 ft. down the rocks on the north end of Boulder Hill in the Black Hills.

The Rockerville VFD said over 20 personnel were involved in the vertical rescue to reach the patient and lower them to the bottom of Boulder Hill. From there the patient was transported to Keystone Ambulance waiting at the staging area.

An afternoon storm that brought winds, rain, and lightning made the rescue more challenging. In total the rescue took 4.5 hours…
