SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -Ryan Jansa is certainly one of the favorites to win the State Amateur Golf Tournament this weekend in Sioux Falls.
It’s his first individual event after re-gaining his amateur status and while it’s not quite like playing in the Sanford International or Champions Tour, he’s still pumped up to be competing against South Dakota’s best.
Ryan Jansa says, “It’s all the same thing. I think any competitive golfer is looking for the same thing. To be competitive, to be in the mix and to get out there and be competitive with whether it’s the best players in the world at my age or these young kids that are out there competing in college. It’s a different thrill but it’s always still a thrill. So yeah I’m really enjoying it and to your point I’m having a great time doing it. Certainly a lot less stress, but I still get nervous. I told Julie going down to the husband-wife that I was still nervous hitting that first tee shot which is hard for some people to believe but it’s just those juices get flowing and it takes a couple of holes to wear off, but yeah I’m having a great time doing it.”…
