From discarded to ‘do-over,’ handmade business turns household items into art, jewelry

People deserve do-overs, Shelleen Weeks firmly believes.

So does your grandmother’s mismatched silverware taking up space in a junk drawer. So do old keys that haven’t matched a door lock for years.

And chipped vintage china. And even that lucky poker chip.

Weeks, whose motto is “re-purposed, re-cycle, re-loved,” sees items that most people see as junk, kaput, unusable and comes up with ways to give them new life.

She has turned that vision into Do-Overs! Eclectic Jewelry & Crafts by Shelleen and will display her creations at Saturday’s 605 Made Night Market in downtown Sioux Falls…
