SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -At the age of four, Michael O’Connor was separated from his family in foster care. He felt loneliness in such a deep way; he remembers to this day the decision to close off all of his feelings.
“You’re going to have to, you’re going to have to stop feeling this way,” O’Connor said. “And now today they say that, those are kind of the seedlings that grow addiction.”
His turbulent life eventually included alcohol and trouble with the law. But a judge’s sentence served as his wake-up call, putting him on a path he is grateful for today…
