Showers, storms, and windy conditions continue across the region tonight

(Dakota News Now) – The rain and the wind will be the big stories the next couple of days across our area. Rain will continue for most of us today, which may be heavy at times. Northeastern parts of the area could see 2-3 inches of rainfall when this is all said and done, which does pose an isolated flooding threat. We’ve also had some heavier rain in the southeastern parts of the area dating back to this past Friday night. The good news is that no severe weather is anticipated at this time. However, a few cold air funnels will be possible by this afternoon and Tuesday morning. These rarely touch down, but if you see one, make sure to report it to the National Weather Service! In terms of temperatures, we will stay in the 50s and 60s today.

The cold front associated with all this rainfall doesn’t exit the region until Tuesday. By Tuesday, temperatures will fall back into the lower to mid-50s for daytime highs, which is much closer to normal for this time of year. Rainfall will be lingering throughout much of the day on Tuesday especially in central and eastern parts of the area.

The rain will still be sticking around the eastern parts of the area on Wednesday as this system continues to slowly move its way out of here. After this system moves through, the next chance of rain doesn’t return until this upcoming Saturday. Along the way, temperatures will fall to the 40s for highs and overnight lows will be in the 30s…
