SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The river that runs through the heart of Sioux Falls is a little cleaner.
Volunteers came out to the Big Sioux River Greenway Cleanup for the fifth year. They were given a trash bag and gloves and picked up debris along the banks of the river once participants checked in.
“This makes a huge difference. This is our one day where we have the most people come out to help clean up the Big Sioux River. People are wanting to help out the Earth because it’s close to Earth Day, so we’ll get probably around 500 volunteers across the watershed community,” Friends of the Big Sioux River education and outreach manager Emily Oyos said…
