Storm Center AM Update: More Rain Chances into Monday

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Portions of KELOLAND got in on some much-needed rain on Saturday. Here’s a look at 24-hour rain totals estimated by radar:

We’ll have another round of rain to contend with as we head later into the day. While some scattered showers are possible at first, better chances for rain fill in toward the afternoon, evening, and overnight periods. We may also get a few thunderstorms out of the deal to the south and east, while areas to the west see a rain/snow chance.

A “Marginal Risk” for severe weather is in place for the southeastern corner of KELOLAND, including the likes of Harrisburg, Beresford, Yankton, Vermillion, and Rock Valley, IA. Gusty winds and hail are the main concerns with any storm that gets its act together.

Rain chances will linger East River on Monday before we see this moisture gradually lift to our north and east. We’ll get a break East River on Tuesday from the rain, but areas to the west see a chance for rain and even snow showers at times. Some rain showers may linger into Wednesday for central and western KELOLAND.

By the end of the work and school week, we’ll quiet down and enjoy pleasant conditions across the board. We’ll even warm up a bit headed into next weekend…where the first few days of May do try to trend warmer.
