South Dakota Highway Patrol announces May sobriety checkpoints

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The South Dakota Highway Patrol announced that sobriety checkpoints will be conducted in 21 counties throughout May.

The counties that will have sobriety checkpoints include:

  • Brule County
  • Butte County
  • Codington County
  • Davison County
  • Edmunds County
  • Hamlin County
  • Hanson County
  • Jackson County
  • Jerauld County
  • Lawrence County
  • Lincoln County
  • Meade County
  • Minnehaha County
  • Moody County
  • Lake County
  • Pennington County
  • Roberts County
  • Sanborn County
  • Spink County
  • Stanley County
  • Yankton County

The checkpoints are funded by the South Dakota Office of Highway Safety and conducted by the South Dakota Highway Patrol with the help of local law enforcement.
