SPOKANE, Wash. — The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) announced Monday that it’s expanding its Work Zone Speed Camera Program with new cameras along I-90 in Spokane this month.
A paving project on I-90 between State Route 904 and Geiger Road will be the first project in the Spokane area to use the cameras in its work zone. This project will reduce speeds and close lanes throughout the summer as crews replace broken and worn asphalt.
WSDOT says travelers should prepare for lane reductions and closures throughout the summer as crews smooth the surface, which hasn’t been replaced since 2012. Cameras will begin enforcement in June.
