Sheriff asks Spokane County to support a public safety sales tax application

Spokane, Wash. — Spokane County commissioners are being asked to approve a sheriff-backed application tied to a new state public safety sales and use tax option.

Sheriff John Nowels briefed commissioners on the proposal during their planning session Tuesday. The request calls for approval of an attestation and application to the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission.
