Spokane secures millions in state funding for housing, law enforcement and community programs

SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane and City Council announced results from the 2026 Washington State Legislative Session following its conclusion on March 12, according to a press release.

The 60-day session resulted in wins for the city across housing, transportation, education and civil rights issues through collaboration between council members, city staff, state legislators and community partners.

“Our success this legislative session wouldn’t have been possible without this collaborative team of legislators, city staff, council and our folks on the ground in Olympia,” Council Member Sarah Dixit said. “Every session, we are reminded how important it is to have legislative champions, like those in our 3rd District, advocate for our communities on the east side of the state.”…
