A new locally owned news/talk radio station has signed on in the Inland Northwest, “107.1 FM | 1230 AM News Radio KBNW,” which airs on KBNW-FM and KSBN-AM serving the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene market. The station is positioning itself around live and local news coverage during key weekday listening periods, along with traffic, weather, and community information.
The station is led by Keith Shipman, former President and CEO of the Washington State Association of Broadcasters, and veteran Spokane broadcaster Roger Nelson, whose career includes more than 25 years with the KXLY Broadcast Group and Phase 3 Digital. The launch also reunites Shipman and Nelson, who previously worked together at KOMO Radio during the 1980s and 1990s.
“Local broadcasting is at its best when it informs, connects and serves the community,” Shipman said in the announcement. “Our goal is to provide timely, relevant information that keeps the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene metropolitan area well informed, whether it’s breaking news, traffic slowdowns, severe weather or the stories shaping our region each day.”…
