SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — The Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office says Washington Governor Bob Ferguson has denied clemency for a man convicted of a 1996 Spokane murder.
Travis Comeslast was convicted of the killing of Christopher Gongyin, who was sleeping in his bedroom with his wife and baby. Comeslast and another man woke Gongyin, got into an argument and Comeslast shot Gongyin pointblank in the head, according to court records and testimony.
The bullet burned the infants’ leg as well. Comeslast then ordered Gongyin’s wife to give him money and drugs, pulling her and the infant out of bed to get items he wanted, the prosecutor’s office said…
