Murder trial for Spokane woman accused of repeatedly stabbing, shooting ex-boyfriend delayed again

SPOKANE, Wash. – There is yet another delay in the murder trial for Cynthia Khaleel. She’s accused of killing her ex-boyfriend, Justin Daniel, in his Mead home back in 2024. Monday was supposed to mark the start of trial with jury selection, but Khaleel’s defense did not show up.

According to the proceedings, one attorney who had been assigned to her case is already on leave; the remaining lawyer has now also put in for FMLA leave. A supervisor was sent in their place to address the court.
