PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – With home prices surging in recent years, and some consumers questioning if homeownership is within reach, WalletHub released a study of the most affordable cities to buy a home in the United States, naming some cities in the Pacific Northwest.
According to WalletHub, the median home sale price rose from $313,000 in Q1 2019 to $405,300 in Q4 of 2025.
“While prices may be beginning to ease in some parts of the country this year, interest rates have climbed sharply. For instance, the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate increased from a historic low of 2.65% in January 2021 to 6.38% in March 2026,” WalletHub added…
