CONROE, Texas (CW39) – Construction activity is ramping up at the future home of Cartwright Junior High as crews continue making visible progress on the new Conroe ISD campus that is expected to welcome students in August 2027.
The school, located on FM 1314 north of Crighton Road in Conroe, will serve students from the Conroe and Timber Mill feeder zones. District officials say work is steadily moving forward as the project begins taking shape.

With Conroe ISD classrooms empty across the district for summer break since May 22, construction crews are actively building what will become one of the district’s newest junior high campuses.
The campus is named in honor of longtime Conroe educator Martha Cartwright, according to her son, Keith Cartwright, who told CW39 that she taught English at Conroe High School for 40 years and influenced generations of Conroe-area students. He said she graduated from Charles Milby High School in Houston in 1960 and earned her degree from Sam Houston State University in 1964.
