On May 1st, 2026, at approximately 1:15 pm, Conroe Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a missing three-year-old child at the Lakes of Westview Apartments, located at 1900 Westview. Conroe Patrol Officers arrived within minutes and began an intensive search for the missing child.
Officers located a fenced-in pond on the northwest side of the complex with a partially open gate and a child’s shoe near the pond. Officers quickly jumped into the pond and began searching for the child. After searching for approximately ten minutes, the child was recovered from the pond and quickly handed to Conroe Fire and Montgomery County EMS units. The child was unresponsive and was immediately rushed to a local area hospital.
Investigators from the Conroe Police Criminal Investigations Division were called out and responded to the scene. Sadly, at approximately 2:11 pm, the HCA Conroe medical staff advised that the child did not survive and was pronounced deceased. The family of the child is with their child at the hospital.
