SPRINGFIELD–The sports world rarely, if ever, agrees on ANYTHING, especially if you’ve been on social media. However, in the last 24 hours, the vast majority of sports fans have been united by their outrage over Monday’s ruling, by a Texas judge, that cleared the way for Texas Tech quarterback, Brendan Sorsby, to play this fall, after the NCAA did not reinstate him, last Friday.
From fans to university officials, along with members of the media, it seemed like practically EVERYONE understood why this decision feels so corrupt — Sorsby admitted to wagering at least $90,000 on professional and college sports, which includes betting on his own team, in the last four years.
The admission of the egregious violation meant Sorsby would be rightfully ruled ineligible by the NCAA, and cost him his senior season. Which, in turn, could potentially harm his draft stock of being a first round selection in the 2027 NFL Draft…
