SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – A controversial Wisconsin research facility is transferring all of its remaining dogs. It follows a rescue in May that led many of the dogs to Rescue One in Springfield.
Ridglan Farms announced it will transfer all remaining dogs from its Town of Blue Mounds breeding and research operation by the end of August. The facility recently reached an agreement to sell 325 dogs to Big Dog Ranch Rescue, with those animals expected to be transferred this week. The facility also agreed to donate all remaining dogs it owns to the rescue before the end of August.
The announcement follows months of negotiations and rescue efforts that have already resulted in approximately 1,635 dogs leaving Ridglan Farms for shelters, rescues and adopters across the country.
