SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol has reported that a 19-year-old Springfield woman died after drowning at Lake Springfield on Sunday, June 14.
MSHP says the woman died in the incident that occurred around 4:10 p.m. on Sunday when a vessel was swept over the dam and did not resurface.
Law enforcement states that Medical Examiner Mike Lamphere pronounced the 19-year-old dead around 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16. The next of kin has been notified.
