More than 50 CoxHealth employees are losing their jobs or being shifted into other roles due to adoption of new technologies and “organizational evolution” within the hospital system, according to a news release from CoxHealth.
On June 12, the Springfield-based health system announced that 53 employees on the Revenue Cycle team are either taking on different roles within the system or are leaving the system. The news release said that the affected employees were primarily involved in manual entry for medical coding, which is now automated.
“Technology has taken on work that once required significant manual effort, giving our teams more capacity to focus on the people and communities we serve,” the news release said. “For CoxHealth to continue delivering on its mission, adopting new technologies, tools, and processes is essential.”…
