Druff’s Diner window sign sparks backlash from Springfield Police Officer’s Association

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – A sign posted in the window of a downtown Springfield diner has drawn thousands of online comments and prompted a response from a local law enforcement association questioning whether officers are welcome inside.

The sign, displayed outside Druff’s Diner, reads: “STOP — all law enforcement officials — do not enter without a lawful judicial search warrant.”

Association calls for explanation

On July 22, the Springfield Police Officer’s Association — a group separate from the Springfield Police Department — published a Facebook post calling on Druff’s Diner to explain the sign. The post collected thousands of comments and likes.
