AURORA, Mo. — Aurora Rural Fire Protection District says they’ve been quite busy over the past week, responding to multiple fires, training events, and crashes during a week of extreme heat in southwest Missouri.
According to a Facebook post from Aurora Rural Fire Protection, last week, their crews responded to four structure fires, which included mutual aid calls assisting the Aurora Fire Department when they responded to a fire at a mill downtown, and also jumping in to assist Billing Fire District on a second-alarm barn fire.
The department also responded to multiple vehicle fires and crashes all week long.
While emergency calls remained at the top of their priority list, the Aurora Rural Fire Chief Andrew Leach says members of his crew also spent the week attending CPR training, fire training, and water rescue training during an already action-packed week.
