Republic man sentenced in federal court after Lawrence County Standoff

A Republic man has been sentenced to more than nine years in prison after a federal case involving a standoff with police.

Phillip Curtis, was in a standoff with authorities that lasted more than 8 hours.

A release from the U.S. Department of Justice states that Curtis, who had multiple prior convictions for robbery, domestic assault, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm, was sentenced to 110 months in prison…
