SPRINGFIELD, Mo — Road closures for the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival have begun as all access points to Park Central Square have been blocked off for activities, leaving some businesses to rely on foot traffic this weekend.
Ozarks First spoke with multiple businesses in the downtown area about how they are being impacted. Kaycee Vandelicht with the Golden Girls Rum Club spoke about having a slower day.
“I think whenever there’s the festivals, when they close down the road, ultimately it does scare people away,” said Vandelicht. “We’ve had a slower night here tonight.”…
