SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Health experts are urging residents to take precautions against insect bites this summer, including covering exposed skin before entering wooded areas, as tick and mosquito populations rise across the Ozarks.
Clayton Tunnell, a Horticultural Field Specialist with the MU Extension Center in Springfield, said this year’s heat and wetter-than-normal summer have caused insect populations to grow.
