Springfield man born on 9/11 working toward Army enlistment

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -On Sept. 11, 2001, doctors, nurses, and visitors at Cox South in Springfield crowded around one of the only televisions on the labor and delivery floor, inside the room of a woman in labor.

“Usually, if you’re in a hospital room giving birth, you’ve got your friends, your family, whoever you want in there, and you’ve got one nurse and one doctor, but my mom had the entire floor of visitors sitting right next to her bed while she was giving birth,” said Joshua Sekunda.

After 13 hours of labor, Sekunda entered a world that had been forever changed that day…
