WILLS POINT, Texas (KLTV) – Wills Point’s Jeff Sprague secured a top-10 finish last weekend at the Bass Pro Shops REDCREST at Table Rock Lake in Springfield, Missouri.
Sprague joined East Texas Now on Wednesday to talk about the finish, where he sits in the Angler of the Year race and what’s next on the tour. Sprague won $14,500 with a ninth-place finish at REDCREST. He said the competition was tight the entire tournament.
“Table Rock Lake is a phenomenal fishery. It’s full of bass…the weights were tight because the fish are all similar in size, right? A lot of two- to three-pound fish in that range They don’t get real big, so you can’t make a lot of movement with just one bite,” Sprague said. “I just actually capitalized and caught the fish that actually bit. It moved me into the top ten to qualify for that championship round to have an opportunity to be the world champion.”…
