LAWRENCE COUNTY, Mo. — Mount Vernon officials say they had just finished cleaning up damage from Monday’s storm when a new one came in.
Mount Vernon City Administrator Robert Harrington says following Sunday’s storm crews were able to repair power lines and clear debris quickly. Tuesday – the city was hit with another round of severe weather.
“We just got a flash of power here at City Hall and we have one outage that was just reported,” said Harrington.
Tuesday afternoon, around 1 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Lawrence County and several others.
