SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Auto body shops across Springfield are dealing with an overwhelming number of calls and damaged vehicles following Tuesday’s hail storm.
Hammer’s Autoworks on West Chestnut Expressway received more than 1,000 calls in the past 24 hours. The shop’s lot is covered in broken glass from shattered windshields, and many vehicles that were already at the facility for repairs have been totaled by the storm.
“A lot of these vehicles are becoming a total loss because of the extent of the damage,” said Aaron Bruton, vice president of Hammer’s Autoworks.
