SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Springfield man was sentenced in federal court for illegally possessing a firearm.
According to a press release from the Department of Justice, Kai Wesley Burton, 30, was sentenced to 100 months in federal prison without parole, followed by three years of supervised release.
The probable cause statement says the incident occurred on May 11, 2025, when a drive-thru employee for a McDonald’s restaurant on W. Sunshine St. in Springfield reported that Burton was at the drive-thru window with a firearm on his lap, with other passengers in his vehicle…
