Thursday, February 1: Warm streak continues with rain chances this weekend

Our stretch of warm weather continues today with highs again expected in the mid to upper 60s. Winds today will be a little breezy from the southwest and skies will see some high clouds creating mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions. Tonight will be mild in the mid-40s and we’re back in the mid-60s Friday.

Rain is still in play this weekend, however the latest storm track has shifted southward. This means a drier forecast for Saturday with some hints of sunshine. Temperatures should have the opportunity to warm to near 60° again Saturday afternoon. A narrow band of rain will get into Northwest Arkansas with some of the rain as far north as Monett and Branson on the Missouri side of the state line.

That band of rain will continue to pivot across Arkansas and Southwest Missouri with most of it remaining south of an Osceola, MO, to West Plains, MO, line leaving central Missouri mostly dry. Clouds will be thicker on Sunday with cooler air filtering in on northeast winds. This will keep daytime highs in the upper 40s and low 50s.
