Utility urges farmers to burn harvest stubble safely

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KAIT) – After one of its utility poles went up in flames, the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas urged farmers Thursday to use care when burning fields. While it concedes burning stubble is a quick and efficient way of preparing a field for planting, the utility company said if precautions are not taken, fires can ignite power poles and other structures.
