California Drivers; Here’s How To Get Your Share Of The $50 Million Settlement

Californians who purchased gasoline in Southern California in 2015 may get some of their money back in a $50 million settlement with gas trading firms.

The settlement has resolved a lawsuit filed in 2020 by the California Department of Justice. The lawsuit alleged that various entities manipulated spot gasoline market prices. The result drove up prices.

While the companies did not admit to breaking any laws. Instead both sides agreed to a $50 million settlement. This avoided the cost of a trial, and the people affected will receive compensation.

This settlement is in addition to a settlement of a private class action lawsuit filed in federal court.

If you purchased gasoline in Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Kern, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and/or Imperial counties in California between February 20, 2015 and November 10, 2015, you may be eligible for a payment.

Once the case is finally settled, which can take time, you can select various forms of receiving payment.
