Florida Man Broke Into Homes Wearing ‘Sheriff’ Vest To Terrorize Families, Robbing, Beating Them

During these robberies, victims and their family members were awoken in the middle of the night at home

A Florida man faces up to life in prison after being convicted in connection with impersonating a cop to rob and terrorize victims.

A federal grand jury found Darius Hudson, 44, guilty of several robbery and weapons charges.

Prosecutors said he was involved with a group that committed robberies in Florida, Georgia and Arizona between December 2020 and April 2021.

Hudson and others would impersonate law enforcement officers by wearing black clothing, gloves and masks, often with law enforcement insignia or vests with “Sheriff” affixed to them.

They drove a black Dodge Durango equipped with police lights and often handcuffed their victims. During these robberies, victims and their family members were awoken in the middle of the night at home, beaten, pistol-whipped, threatened and, on several occasions, shot.

A woman connected to the crimes previously was sentenced to five years in federal prison for her role in the crimes.
