State buildings will lower flags to honor Sgt. Sanders

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Gov. Brian Kemp has ordered the lowering of all flags at state buildings and grounds to half-staff on Feb. 17.

This decision was made as the state continues to honor the loss of three Georgia natives who were killed in a drone strike last week in Jordan, including Sgt. Kennedy Sanders.

Her homegoing services are set for that Saturday.

The governor says he’ll make the same order for the other fallen Army sergeants when their funeral arrangements are finalized.
