Democrat Illinois U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth called on members of Congress, especially Republicans in the Senate, to cut back on the rhetoric and what she called “irresponsible comments that risk escalating tensions” in the Middle East. Duckworth spoke on the Senate floor Thursday to honor the lives of three U.S. Army soldiers who were killed in a recent attack in Jordan.
