Assault weapon ban case going to SCOTUS

ST. LOUIS – The Illinois State Rifle Association takes its case challenging the state’s assault weapons ban to the U.S. Supreme Court. It is the final legal avenue for the case.

Governor J.B. Pritzker signed the law last year. The association had until March to file an appeal to the Supreme Court, but they wanted to get it in earlier in hopes that the High Court would hear the case by June.

Otherwise, they could be waiting for an answer until 2025.
