Rural school superintendent says we will soon learn impacts of AEA changes

OSAGE, Iowa (KCRG) – One rural school district said big changes in the state’s nine Area Education Agencies are punishing small school districts. The governor and Republican lawmakers enacted sweeping changes in AEAs this year that essentially allow school districts to purchase the specific services they need-some of those services that may otherwise be too expensive for small, rural school districts to afford.
