A large sawdust pile ignited Thursday in southern Trigg County and spread to a nearby wooded area, prompting multiple fire departments to respond.
Roaring Springs Fire Chief Bruce Moore said his department was requested at 2:25 Thursday afternoon to a lumber mill near Corinth School Road and the Oak Ridge Country Store. Moore said the nearly 80-foot sawdust pile at the sawmill ignited. No one knew how long the pile had been cooking before it ignited.
Two hours after the original call, all Trigg County departments and water tankers were requested to respond when the fire spread to an adjacent wooded area along Skinner Creek. At least six departments responded…
