Several arrested during protest as Missouri House debates resolution supporting Israel

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Several protesters were arrested as Missouri lawmakers debated a resolution supporting Israel on Tuesday. The resolution is sponsored by Missouri House Speaker Dean Plocher. He sponsored it in part to highlight the country’s diplomatic ties with the United States. Both supporters of the War in Gaza and those calling for a ceasefire packed a hearing room in the capitol in Jefferson City as lawmakers debated the resolution. The line of those speaking for and against the resolution stretched out into the hallway.
