Fierce opposition meets plan to open 12M acres of Nevada land to solar arrays

Years ago, Senator Harry Reid said he wanted to make Nevada an energy exporter, relying heavily on renewable solar to achieve that goal. Today, 13 solar arrays in Nevada cover about 20,000 acres. The Bureau of Land Management has a new plan to open 31 million acres of Western land for potential solar – and 12 million of those are in Nevada.
